Free Public Lecture: Dr. Banting, a Man of Insulin, Discovering the Human within the Hero
What kind of person was Sir Frederick Banting, the co-discoverer of insulin? A brilliant medical researcher or a small-town doctor who became a Canadian hero by chance? This year’s recipient of the Margaret Angus Research Fellowship, Natalia Mukhina, will look at “the Banting paradox” from a fresh perspective, analyzing the body of evidence surrounding the personality of the First Canadian Nobel Laureate. Refreshments will follow.
