Message from Our President

A warm welcome to the Canadian Society for the History of Medicine (CSHM), a diverse academic association of about 100 members from coast to coast to coast. We are a bilingual, collegial, and welcoming group, united in our deep commitment to the history of health and medicine. Our members come from history and allied university departments, medical schools, government agencies, hospitals, libraries, archives, and museums. While large enough to host a dynamic group of scholars, CSHM is small enough to be personable and friendly, and is particularly supportive of graduate students and emerging scholars.

Please consider becoming a member, which includes a subscription to our outstanding journal, an invitation to our well-attended annual conference, and access to our funding and awards opportunities.

Everything we do is generously supported by AMS Healthcare, which provides annual funding for publications, lectures, awards, research, and special events. Read about AMS Healthcare’s vision.

I am honoured to serve as President of CSHM from 2023-2025 and look forward to greeting long-time and new members at our upcoming conference in Montreal
